ZEROMATIC 2/1 + 2/2 inclination sensor

The two-dimensional ZEROMATIC 2/1 and 2/2 inclination sensors are perfectly suited for any application where monitoring of the smallest changes in absolute inclinations over a longer period of time is required. The extremely high accuracy is achieved by measuring and compensating for any drift of the absolute „zero“ by applying an automatic reversal measurement at defined intervals.

 

The ZEROMATIC 2/1 inclination sensor has one inclination sensor. Each reversal measurement will provide one set of precise and absolute inclination values in the X and Y axes.

The ZEROMATIC 2/2 inclination sensor has two inclination sensors. It can therefore provide continuous values for the  inclination in X and Y axes. At defined intervals it will perform a reversal measurement and compensate for any offset.

 

 

Typical applications are:

  • Monitoring of critical machines
  • Monitoring of buildings, bridges or dams
  • Defining absolute zero references e.g. for radars

 

The instruments have the following features:

  • High-precision mechanics for the automatic reversal measurement
  • Rugged precision aluminum housing for protection against external influences
  • LEDs showing the status of the instrument
  • Data transmission to PC/laptop
  • Optional connection to a portable BlueMETER SIGMA display unit

Calibration Certificate:

ZEROMATIC 2/1 and 2/2 inclination sensors can be delivered with an internationally recognised Calibration Certificateagainst a surcharge

RECOMMENDATION FOR THE MOUNTING OF THE ZEROMATIC SENSOR

Usually when measurements are done on buildings a rectangular mounting bracket is required. With the ZEROMATIC sensor high precision inclination measurements can be done. It is however important to consider the following recommendations:


TEMPERATURE

Temperature changes may have a great influence on the measured results. All around the ZEROMATIC sensor the same temperature must be applied.

MECHANICAL TENSIONS

Mechanical tension between the ZEROMATIC sensor and the mounting bracket and/or the anchorage must be avoided, as these tensions are often the cause of unstable values.


THREE-POINT MOUNTING / DESIGN

Whenever possible, use a three-point mounting jig. Use the same geometry and homogenous material all over. Make a „center symmetrical“ design.

ALIGNMENT OF A MOVABLE 3D MEASURING MACHINE

Measuring task / Goal:
In order to achieve the required accuracy the measuring machine has to be realigned after each transport. This process should be done efficiently.

MONITORING OF A WATER INTAKE TOWER AT A DAM

Measuring task / Goal:
The inclination of the water intake tower respectively its change shall be monitored and registered continuously. The inclination sensor is mounted stationary and shall have an excellent zero point stability. The measuring values shall be registered and evaluated in the central station of the dam at a distance of about 500m.

Measuring task / Goal:
The verticality of each rack in the high rack warehouse has to be monitored permanently.

MONITORING OF 6 TOWERS AT A DOUBLE SLUICE

Measuring task / Goal:
Each of the six towers should be permanently monitored with suitable inclination sensors along the X- and Y-planes. The measuring values should be transmitted online to the local water authority, thus facilitating the ability to sound alarms in time.

All girders have to be monitored continously. In order to achieve a high precision with this measuring task, an excellent long term stability of the sensors is decisive.

DAM MONITORING

Measuring task / Goal:

The inclination and inclination change of a dam is monitored and put in relation to climatic conditions and fill level of the dam. The sensors are mounted permanently and have an excellent zero point stability. The measured values are evaluated in a central station about 10km ( 6 miles ) away.
