Product Details
The Alesa TWISTMilling tools have a unique body profile as well
as having very unique sharp edged ground inserts. Alesa TWIST
milling tools are able to remove more material per pass at a
higher rate of speed.
See how CNCMechanik in Switzerland was able to reduce their
machining time by 70%, double tool life time and save 62.5% in
costs and free up 50 hours of capacity by switching to Alesa
TWIST face milling bodies and Alesa ground edge indexable TWIST
inserts
Alesa TWISTFace, Profile and Slot milling tools are unique in
that they have a special insert profile and the inserts are set
at a twist. Combined with Alesa’s unique ground insert technology
a single Alesa TWIST milling body and TWIST inserts is able to
mill through all different types of materials including hard to
machine materials such as Titanium Alloys, Inconel and Cobalt
based alloys.
Because of the unique profile of Alesa TWIST cutting bodies and
sharp cutting edge on the indexable inserts there is much less
force required to cut through material. This reduces the amount
of heat produced and also produces a cleaner chip which removes a
larger percentage of the heat produces. All this means that Alesa
face milling tools are able to remove a maximum amount of
material at a higher rate of speed.
You will be able to greatly reduce your machining time and
overall production costs because of the reduced cutting time.
Alesa tools also last longer since more material is being removed
each pass and the tool is actually less stressed by slicing
through the material rather than trying to shear it off.
In the above picture a standard carbide insert is compared to an Alesa Ground Edge Steel insert. The Alesa ground insert cutting edge slices through the material easily with its sharp edge creating a cleaner chip with less pressure on the material and insert. This also reduces the amount of heat generated and energy wasted. The standard carbide cutting edge shears the material making it difficult to work with tough materials as well as requiring more torque and stability from the machine used. Also notice below the cutting edge the standard insert compresses the material making cutting a second pass more difficult as well. |
